Grayshott in-store wine tasting with Domaine Les Caizergues, 22nd June 2024

Our next in-store tasting is being held on Saturday 22nd June in Grayshott from 12-5pm. We are introducing the wines of Domaine Les Caizergues from the foothills of the Cevennes to the north of Montpellier in the South of France. Once a silk farm in the golden age of sericulture, today the vineyard (certified organic) makes an award-winning range of reds, whites and rosés. Balancing freshness and ripe fruit from grapes matured slowly and gently at altitude, its blends of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, Vermentino and Viognier are nuanced with the climate and landscape of Languedoc – the limestone causses and wild hillside herbs, the warmth of the Mediterranean sun. The wines also refer to Caizergues’s industrial heritage in their names, such as Les Bobines (Eng: bobbins) and Les Amoriers (the mulberry tree). As the ‘new frontier of France’ (Andrew Jefford, Decanter), Languedoc is now synonymous with wines of provenance at still affordable prices, and Caizergues is proud to be part of this vanguard.
